I changed the DNS settings on my router to point to Google’s DNS servers instead of the DNS servers of my ISP because the ISP’s DNS servers were down.

Reason: when we do ping in windows command prompt it is working but when we try url of google in the browser it is not working . It seams google server is in active and our internet connection also working well. In our area hundreads of people have complaint on same issue so local DNS server may not working. Because of these reasons I changed the DNS settings on my router to point to google's DNS servers.

Other options are no need they are mentioned with reason below.

1.You switched out the Ethernet cable connecting your modem to your router because the cable was damaged.

Reason: I dont do this, because i already saw connection establish on my computer so there is no problem with cable.

2.You used ipconfig to release the IP address on your computer and get a new one from your network’s DHCP service because your computer had a duplicate IP address.

Reason : ipconfig is useful to know the ip address not to release the ip address and DHCP is not assign the duplicate IP address .so i dont do this.

4.You switched to a different ISP because the former ISP’s service was unreliable.

Reason : swithing to another isp is not done within minutes

5.You replaced the router with a new router you had ready to go, knowing that the old router had already exceeded its life expectancy and had finally ceased to function.

Reason: Router working properly because when we do ping in windows command prompt google server is active.

Reason: Wi-Fi radio on my computer is in good condition because we do ping in windows command prompt google server is active.

Reason: one time we already did it so no need to do again.

Reason: From the scenario default gateway working perfectly. Gateway is used to connect with outer network . we already connect with outer network through windows command prompt.

9.You restarted your computer because Windows had updates that needed to be installed.

Reason: current scenario restart is not required
