Join the conversation by creating a thread Create Thread FORUM DESCRIPTION In Chapter 3 we learned about Theory X and Theory Y management attitudes. When we talk about this in my seated classes, I ask students to tell me about the managers for whom they have worked and identify them as Theory X or Theory Y managers. One thing that these conversations often reveal is that there seem to be more Theory X managers working in the retal, construction, and food service industries and there are more TheoryY managers working in professional services, high- end retail, and administrative fields. Why do you think this is? Do you think that managers are drawn to a field based on their managerial attitudes or do you think those attitudes are formed through their experiences as a manager? Be sure to explain your answer and provide examples if possible. When responding to your classmates, be sure to find one person with whom you agree and one person with whom you disagree. Clearly explain why you agree or disagree with that person YOUR RESPONSE TO THE INITIAL PROMPT MUST BE AT LEAST A FULL PARAGRAPH LONG. A FULL PARAGRAPH IS NO LESS THAN 4-5 SENTENCES.

I THINK THIS IS BECAUSE THE THEORY Y IS MORE PROFESSIONAL BASED AND MORE OF A WHITE COLLAR JOB ASSOCIATED AND A CERTAIN LEVEL OF DECENCY IS REQUIRED IS THE JOB

WHEREAS IN THEORY X PEOPLE ARE ACTING MUCH MORE RELAXED AND THERE IS LENIENCY AMONG THE EMPLOYEES

I THINK SINCE THE ATTITUDES ARE FORMED DUE TO THEIR EXPERIENCE SINCE PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN THEORY X SO THEY NEED TO SHOW PEOPLE SKILLS AND SINCE THEY DIFFER FROM PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, THIER HABITS AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE JOB ALSO CHANGES

THEY BECOME WHAT THEY EXPERIENCE AND HENCE THEY ARE MUCH MORE RELAXED ABOUT THE WORK
