difference betwwen Amazon Spot instances and on demand instances

The difference between spot instances and on demand instaces are that spot instances may not start immeditely they depends on demand and they varies with demand.

spot instances are cost effective.  Spot instances are suited for data analysis, batch jobs, background processing, and optional tasks. where as

On-Demand Instances are webservice based instances.You can increase or decrease your compute capacity depending on the demands of your application and only pay the specified hourly rate for the instances you use.

By using spot instances we can reduce price of our running applications and mostly cloud based applications are using spot instances.

when compare to on demand instance spot instance is much lesser cost. and we can reduce our price level to run the applications.

spot instances are available to run for a predefined duration and they are available for 30 to 50% discount compare to ondemand instances.

With spot instances you will never be charged more than maximum price you specified.
