Geometric mean of 4,2,4,82

firstly we will multiply all the value = 4*2*4*82 = 2624

then (as there are four number) take square root = 2624 7.16

Geometric mean of the following value will be 7.16

Given

90% time handling a particular type of computation

improve performance by 8.5 %

original second = 100s

We know from question

90 sec will be handling a particular type of computation

So, 90% divide 8.5% = 10.58

execution time be after the change = original second - improvement change

100 sec - 10.58 = 89.42.

Current version of processor spent = 80/100 = 0.8

To be able to achieve an overall speedup of 1.2. Computer architect should design the memory system by 1.2 - 0.8 = 0.4.

So the should be 40% increase architect speed up the memory system to achieve an overall speedup of 1.2?
