Explanation / Answer

Yes, I do think that Welby can help change the trucking industry for the better. As Welby is a Yoga instructor and traveller, which offers a new perspective to the trucking industry by stating to use the appropriate amount of energy in the right direction to make convoluted and overcomplicated trucking industry more efficient.

Welby has focused towards “permatrucking” (which is a movement) to create evolutionary change and to reduce inefficiencies, mostly driver wellness. It is based on perceiving and reproducing natural systems by including new technologies to have safe trucks, improvement in transportation system, healthy experience for truck drivers and apply design thinking in trucking. All of these changes will lead to RFX into a more environmentally and socially responsible company. Some of efforts which are taken care by Welby are, such as, having lunchtime yoga classes, weekly management sessions with meditation, more discussion on organic food during town hall meetings, truck drivers participate in nutrition, wages and health related discussions, offering each driver with tablet along with the logistical details and the tips on basic exercises, short videos for meditation, selection on healthy foods, wellness programs, etc.
