The facial recognition systems can be traced to decades old technological enhancements being done when camera pictures were a mere blurred portraits. With the emergence of better megapixel cameras , even the minute details of the pictures can be trapped within the pictorial information which can be put to use for recognitions of faces and facial expressions.

But with the pros , comes cons as well. Despite the facial recognitions have now become very popular as Apple's Iphone X has an unlock feature by recognizing faces, this has become a threat to privacy as well.

Millions of images having human faces of different race, ethnicity and groups are stored in the databases ,with many personal informations cause the real threat to the privacy.

As many state's police have been using facial recognition systems to identify suspects , there can be errors in recognition techniques which may lead to punishment of the wrong and innocent individuals.
