Question
The three areas for hot spots in airports are the check-in counters, secure passageways, and underground stations. As frequent fliers, many of us tolerate check in counter and intermodal transportation delays because we have some personal control and strategies to manage our waiting time. We can use our mobile devices to avoid waiting at ticket counters, checking in our bags, or even selecting how we will arrive at the airport. But other than applying for TSA Pre-Check we are at the unpredictable mercy of the TSA screeners. Discuss and debate what you can do as a planner to alleviate this congestion.
Explanation / Answer
TSA Checkpoint the most complicated and most miserable places at airport for elevating the congestion I would look into three variables : TSA screening requirements, special lines for certain passengers and large Staging area before the convener belt.
Using a planner to specific and creating a streamline structure of going through each and every part of the airport mechanism would be the most appropriate way of reducing waiting at the ticket counter. Using a planet would also enable us to maintain better quality of selection for the appropriate location as per the congestion which could be further used for increasing efficiency of our operations reducing the total wait time at ticket counter and other processes involved in operation.
