Explanation / Answer

1) When a person has external locus of control then he easily get motivated/stressed/demotivated through external sources such as any colleague. An incident of a trainee being so nervous before a meeting concerning her presentation because before the meeting someone at the office said that her supervisor is very strict and pinpoint even minor mistakes. Although he was enough confident but after having this heard she got extremely nervous. This incident narrates that her locus of control if mainly external. This made her presentation bad and the clients were not happy with it to which her boss scolded her and made her feel less esteemed person.

This trainee have been seen taking her decisions based on the intuitions and feelings that she has most of the time. Thus she exhibits feeling decision making function. (MBTI) This attribute does not make other people ask for suggestions from her as she always give priority to her inutions than facts.

2) Having external locus of control may help when one has to be motivated. he may get trained and focussed through good words, some encouragemnet etc. However it is weakness when some negativity comes from external sources.

Being feeling based decision maker is strength while making decisions related to personenl however it is weakness when decisions have to be made based on facts most of the time.

3) Various excercises and trainings are avilable that may help a perosn to develop internal locus of control balanced with external locus of control. One need to develop self confidence, self esteem, inner focussed.
