QUESTION 1 You are designing a webpage with PHP scripting language. Whether it is on or off by default depends on the version of PHP. In all versions since 4.2.0, it has been off by default. It is fairly convenient but came into existence only with PHP D. The most verbose. Note, however, that it is deprecated and is therefore likely to be removed in the long term.

Explanation / Answer

As per the different PHP Versions, there exists three different ways to access form data through variables.

1. Short style ($tireqty) = A. Convenient but requires the register_globals configuration setting be turned on. Whether it is on or off by default depends on the version of PHP. In all versions since 4.2.0, it has been off by default. (This feature has been deprecated as of PHP 5.3.0 and removed as of PHP 5.4.0)

2. Medium style ($_POST['tireqty']) = C. Now the recommended approach, it is fairly convinient but came into existence only with PHP 4.1.0

3. Long style ($HTTP_POST_VARS['tireqty']) = D. The most verbose. Note, however, that it is deprecated and is therefore likely to be removed in the long term.

4. Gagnam style ($PSY['tireqty']) = B. This feature never existed.

NOTE: Deprecated means no more use in current version of PHP.
