To begin the discussion with your team this week to ensure clear collaboration, explain the elements(s) of the project that you will be investigating. What are some research questions you will explore related to your subsection?

The project I will be investigating deals with alternative energy and the subcategory is Wind Power

Explanation / Answer

Choosing the broader area as alternative energy and then narrowing down to wind power makes our task easy. The first thing in a research is to find the literature which is already available in the repository. Finding several journal papers, books, articles will provide us an idea of wind Power and its importance. Next, we need to find the gap in the papers as that would provide us an idea of the direction in which we need to proceed. Next, we will set our clear objectives out of several research questions based on reality, feasibility and accessibility to data. The elements which we will be discussing are the factors or variables based on which we will start our study. The study can be exploratory or descriptive research, it can be quantitative or qualitative, it can be from primary or secondary sources. Then we need to restrict the scope of the study i.e. where exactly the study will be conducted. Next, in the research methodology section, we need to decide on the methods that we are going to use to collect data like questionnaire, focus group or interviews.

Now, coming to our research questions it can be formulated as

1. To study the feasibility of wind power in different countries.

2. To study the trends in the advancement of wind power technologies.

3. To assess the operational aspects of wind energy in terms of turbine performance, availability, efficiency, repair and maintenance, manhours required etc.

4. To study the important aspects of the wind power in terms of the replaceability capabilities of wind power against the non-renewable energy, cost estimation, energy generation, and government subsidies etc.
