Giving the same corrective actions to all unethical acts committed poses a serious threat to maintaining fairness of the organizational policies. A new employee should not receive the same termination punishment as an embezzler for being five minutes late to a status meeting.
Should a long-time employee be given the same punishment as the new employee who is five minutes late to a status meeting? If so, might this suggest to the new employee that the punishment will never be more than what he/she experiences the first time? (In a 150 words or more).

Giving punishments to employees of organisation is essential to create a control or to keep them a line with code of conduct of the specific organisation.
Punishing the new employees of the organisation is usually taken lightly as they are treated in a better way as they do not have good understanding of the organisational culture. But if the employee is old and working for the organisation for a long time there are many responsibilities available for the specific employee towards the employer.
As long term employees pose a model of operation in the specific working culture,A long time employee being late set an example to the new employees who usually learn from them in the organisational culture. This type of approach directly reduces the overall impact of positive image of the specific employee on new employees of the organisation creating a more lazy work culture.
This is some of the main reasons why this kind of enforcement is done in the organisations where long-term employees are punished differently then new employees.
Definitely punishing by employees is essential but new employees are usually given preference in terms of less intense punishment. As they gain more responsibility in the organisation and grow positively in the operational structure they are prone to serious punishment into their negligence.
