Explanation / Answer

a. Total no. of washers is 22.
Average time taken to finish one order is 42 minutes,
The capacity of washing stage = 60 Min/ 42 Min = 1.42 orders per hr.

b. Total no. of dryers is 34.
Average time taken to finish one order is 38 minutes,
The capacity of drying stage = 60 Min/ 38 Min = 1.57 orders per hr.

c. Bottleneck is washer because when dryer complete 1.5 orders in one hour, washer can finish only 1.4 orders in one hour.

d. Average time taken by washer is 42 minutes and by dryer is 38 minutes. So average time taken to complete one order is 42 Min + 38 Min = 80 Min. Therefore, capacity of Money Laundry to complete no. of orders in 1 hr is, 60 Min/ 80 Min = 0.75 orders per hour.
