I am disagreeing with the statement that IT and IS will not create competitive advantage for the organization. Information technology (IT) helps to disseminate the information with low cost to a wider mass. Information System (IS) is a set of integrated equipments, software programs along with hardware to collect, receive, and retrieve the data for the purpose of business. Companies like Amazon, Ford, and walmart etc.are getting competitive advantage. Amazon has strong CRM (customer relationship management) application based on IT system which makes reliable, trustworthy and responsiveness in customer satisfaction.

I am agree with the statement that knowledge of IT is important for every Chief information officer (CIO) working with any organization. It helps to take right decision to services delivery at anyhow to the target segment of the customers. An organization can better serve its internal management like hiring of the candidates via online and software tool, online attendance and coordination,   Virtual communication to remote employees etc. Even, external forces can be better managed like assisting remote customer, sending e-brochure of the products, online delivery of products, online submission of necessary disclosure of government documents like Tax, environmental clearance, report about employee safety, status of implementation to affordable care Act etc.
