Apple's strengths include high standards followed in product development, sleek design, clever marketing and a great brand name.

Apple's Weaknesses includes the fact that it does not open its hardware to outsiders, also has veto power on the apps sold and is not a shareholder friendly.

Apple's Opportunities: It has a very loyal customer base and has a very unique product in iPad and iPhone variationsand so new products will generally be received well. Apple can take advantage of its new version of Apple TV by adapting to a highly developed web.

Apple Threats: Apple's big ideas are being easily copied and definitely its product pricing is very high making it hard to buy for an average person.

Apple's supply chain model involves R&D where the product originates from and this moves onto the next stage of concept testing where a pilot is made which has been tested for minimal defects and the model that makes through the concpt testing will reach the pre launch stage. Any production ramp issues, software , material purchase commitments, maintenance of inventory levels,etc are tweaked out in this period. After the issues are finalised the product is launched. Next comes the quarterly review. So these are the stages of the supply chain. On an average Apple works on a lean principle and so has succeeded in its category so far.
