a) project control life cycle consist of 5 steps.
INITIATION -> PLANNING / DESIGN -> EXECUTION -> MONITERING / CONTROLLING -> CLOSEING
For any project we are working it should be controlled. For this we should have some specific steps to handle it.
First comes is INITIATION. for any project with out initiation nothing can be done. Here we should have idea like what should be done and what are the requirements with high level knowledge on project.
Then next comes is PLANNING OR DESIGN . This is one of the main part of any project. With out planning nothing can be possible. For working on any project we should have some plan or design that how it can be done. Here planning and design can include how much time ,budget, man power,... can take.
Now after Planning and design next step is EXECUTION. After Planning or design we should execute the process as per the design and planning.
One of the important part in project is MONITERING or CONTROLLING . Here while doing planning and execution we may do any mistakes. For this we need to have some monitoring system and that should be controlled.
Now comes the CLOSURE. This is the best part of the project as the project that we have done will be successful. Then it's time for closure with out any issues. This step comes after all the steps has successfully completed. And this would be happy ending for any project.
b) i) Yes it's true that a project manager is often to create a highlight report. That can include Business Objectives, Progress summary of the project, Schedule summary, Budget summary, Key issues, key risks and challenges , and Changes. This all points should be mentioned in highlight report which is created by a project manager.
B) ii) Project manager is responsible for creating more reports such as Status Report, Risk Report, Executive Report , Resource Report.
STATUS REPORT is one of the most often question which can be asked to project manager. This can be monthly project status report or daily project status report.
RISK REPORT is where you have found some major or any important risks due to which project deliver might get effected. This report might contain low level of risk occurred.
RESOURCE REPORT can be that which employee is allocated to which task and if any issues occur that can be directly identified so that it can be easy for project deliver.
