You are requested to be part of a team designing an IT Infrastructure for international nonprofitable organization. The organization has six offices,located in Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and Jeddah. Collective input is required from these branches while making a decision globally.

1.         Based on your analysis of the Economic, Cultural, Legal, Demographic factors affecting IT infrastructure decision making, explain whether a directory service or a peer-to-peer network would be more appropriate to meet the organization’s globalization needs of collective decision making.

DIRECTORY SERVICE:

To meet the organizational global needs,according to my point of view,Directory system is the best source.A directory system in general is almost similar to a database,which contains more descriptive,attribute based data in a simple language which implies which is often read more than it is written.

Besides this,a directory contains that is precisely mentioned and related to a particular entry.It enables us to collect lots load of various information from different sources which is widely used.

These directories are mainly designed in such a way that to respond in a quick manner for a large volume of data and for better look up or also known as search operations.

A lookup is an operation in a directory that targets a specific unique entry.The one of the main advantages of directories is that it can replicate the data which provides more data availability and thus reducing the response time.

There are a number of directory service methods that are mostly used.Out of them the two which are widely used are:

1.LDAP-Light Weight Directory Access Protocol:

This is mainly used for mail addresses.

2.NDS-Netware Directory Services:

This is mainly used for Novell Netware networks.
