You are a security consultant with the VIU Co. and have been asked to help investigate a recent security incident that took place at the law firm, Frank, Charles and Champion. In your assignment you have been assigned to work with the vice president of IT.

The security incident that you are investigating appears to be a case of an intruder who broke into a company computer to remove and destroy information on an upcoming legal case. A forensic examination revealed that the incident was actually an inside job that was perpetrated by one of the new programmers, who is a relative of the VP of IT.

When you wrote your findings and presented then to your client, the VP of IT has asked you to change the findings in your report to show that the perpetrator could not be found. The VP has promised future work for your company and a good recommendation for your work if you comply.

What will you do next? And explain your reason based on Ethic.

Firstly I am a security consultant. My job is to provide the correct information to the client. In this case a relative of vs was found to be guilty. This incident took place to Law firm. As we all know that Law should be always correct and guilty should be punished.

When a security breach accoured in a law firm they consulted me to investigate the problem. My work is to write a report on how the crime was done and submit it to the higher officer Vice President of IT. I keenly worked on how the breach was occoured. There are no chances of other persons to enter into the office computer as it is highly secured. It should be a work of inner person. I started my work on finding him. I observed many documents and finally concluded a person. I came into conformation when I saw the bank document of that particular person. No other persons are found to be guilty. So I wrote my report on him and submitted to the VP.

Here VP wantedme show that the perpetrator could not be found because the accused was his relative. He also offered me assurance that by helping him I can get a good future offers from him. But I am security consultant my job is to give a correct report. I won't help VP in any case if the person is found to be guilty. This is Law firm if I changed the report the other persons who are waiting for the judgement will suffer because of my work. I wont let it happen. I will simply do me work and submit the correct report to the VP and the Law firm.
