What key areas do you believe they should focus on for metrics, across the whole business? Given the distributed nature of the workforce (manufacturing and sales teams) how could online/ mobile reporting tools support the organisation? . . MIS AND IMPLEMENTATIONExplanation / Answer
- As per the above-given case the company does not have a solid system which would give a holistic report of the operations of the company, there are many people involved in making a report, which is not transparent as it is made in excel. Hence company should purchase an ERP module which would enable the company to keep the Records on the production and performance of the employees, plus the report making would become transparent as few designated people qualified enough would be generating report and majority of work would be computer-based, hence the possibility of error is negligible.
- If the company develops a solid reporting structure the reports generated from the system would give a view of the performance of the company and of the employee. this would determine the further strategies to be taken by the company for the further operations. This would enable the company to check the internal systems according to the reports and make necessary changes in the strategies, if the company has acceptable and favourable reports, which signifies breaking the threshold limit and company is excelling, it could link the strategies for the future plans.
- The 2 most important factors for the company is product and people, the company should focus on these 2 factors, if these 2 factors align with the company goals, then the rest would align itself with the goals. for instance, the company should look into the production data, which would enable the company to constantly improve the production techniques, plus focusing on the Human resources would enable them to deploy the right person to the right job and also effectively using of the HR. If these two strategies are properly monitored then the ultimate goal of the business would be achieved, that is profit maximization.
- The World is adhering to the Online / Mobile reporting system citing its various benefits which support the organisation to make it more efficient and keeping it up to date. The online system would enable the organisation to finish the paperwork and reducing the stress to manually compute the data, the online systems would easily develop an automated report for further use. Plus the company would be able to save time and get accurate reports. This will enable the company to constantly monitor the manufacturing process and use of Human resources and take the strategic decision which would be beneficial for the business. The online report would enable a company to forecast the further demand on the last year's trend with the accurate details, enabling the company to create the production schedule reducing any foreseen losses.
