Core competency can be defined as the unique advantage or value proposition of a company which is difficult to imitate,provides long terms benefits, can be used to develop further business models and it comes through collective learning.

Capalites can be defined as something in which company is good at and is important for survival but is not someting which can not be achieved by other competitor's.

Goldfields company operating in ghana has 90% of resources available with them.

It is said to belive that resources will deplete within 14-15 years, so it is clearly understood that it becomes the core compentency of this company due to hold on majority of resources and pass in VRIN framework when considered the qualification criterion of VRIN below points.

Due to natural resource it clearly provides the edge to company and can be identified ascompetitive advantage.
