According to Bergstram and Hamilton, organisations have different structures and these structures have a bearing on attitudes and behaviour. Each organization has a different culture and structure which makes them a different performer altogether. Behaviour of individuals working in these organisations also are influenced by the structure and the culture of the organisation. As part of a management training programme in your organisation, you are required to undertake research into; two different types of organizations one of which should be a local company and the other an international company dealing in 2 different products or services.

1. Organisational structure means a hierarchical arrangement of duties, responsibilities, line of authority. It determines how roles, responsibilities are assigned, controlled and coordinated within the organisation and how information should be communicated. We have different organizational structures, those are
Line organizational structure. It is a structure, in which authority is vertical in unbroken line, there are no sfaff managers in sfatt units to assist the line managers. Line managers have right to take decisions within scope of their authority
Staff organizational structure. In this structure, there are some special persons available to assist line managers in the planning of business activities
Line and staff organizational structure
This is the combination of line and staff, here we can observe line of authority is moves down as same as line organisations and some special persons are attached to the line managers to assist them
Functional organisation structure
In this structure, activities of single person are supervised by no.of specialists from various functional departments
Committee organizational structure
It means group of people working for common objective under certain managerial functions but their rules and responsibilities are fixed by top management
Matrix organizational structure
in this structure, one employee getting guidelines from two bosses from two different hierarchies, one is functional and another one is executive.
Organizational culture refers to priniciples, particular behaviour with in the work place which decided by a company, to work with a company, employees should follow the culture of that company. This culture based on its work type and business. This organizational culture useful to understand behaviours, working environment of a company. We have some different types of cultures, those are like power culture, role culture, task culture and personal culture.
2. Organizational culture and structure having strong relationship and it will impact on planning process of an organisation. It can impact on performance of business positively and negatively. Positive impact is, useful to improve decipline, good behaviour of employees and negative impact is , improving conflicts, if people not accepting culture of organisation.
3. In many organisations, there are many factors which influence the behaviour of individuals at work, those are characteristics like personal mentality, attitude, thinking power, confidence, friendliness, kindness, easy going, careless, curious. These factors are effecting the working behaviour
4. Organizational theories are very useful to improve the management practice, because those are set of principles which guide the managers to do their management practice more effective. We have different management theories like scientific management theory, bureaucratic theory, human relations theory, administrative theory, among these human relation management theory is the best and even in present days somany companies following this theory.
