Description of stop-and-wait: Stop-and-Wait is basically a type of flow control. In this flow control, sender send the messeage to receiver by dividing the message into multiple frames. Sender send frames to the receiver, and after sending frame, sender waits for the acknowledgement before sending the next frame to receiver. In this
flow control we have following two operations:
i) Sender send a single frame at a time to the receiver.
ii) Receiver send acknowledgement to the sender as it receive the frame.
Advantages of Stop-and-Wait flow control:
i) Its very easy flow control.
ii) It make sure that receiver receive the frame before sending the next frame.
Disadvantages of Stop-and-Wait flow control:
i) Its slow as at a time single frame is send.
ii) Each time sender have to wait for the acknowledgement from the receiver side. it also make the complete flow slow.
