Ans(a)As Medihelp was using traditional databases to store related datas of their customers which lacked decision making on basis of different criterias,So for accessing and retrieving related datas for multiple claims and for other facts was difiicult and time consuming.
so to overcome with this problem medihelp chose Sybase IQ for its data warehousing.
different conceptual test was carried out by loading subset of tables from the database and executing queries related to that subset only for evaluating the results and it was found that overall performance improved greatly as compared to the traditional databases.
due to great improvement in response time to the queries Sybase BI solution will help in effective utilisation of time and money for Medihelp.
(b)By using BI solution Medihelp can substantially increase its customer base as compared to others in the run which is due to the data warehousing provided by BI solution,their manager, teams and brokers can understand trends,claims and requirements of their customers of different regions and age group in more convenient way since data warehousing provide accurate information in an understandable format.
also the required financial effects to be brought out in the benifits in a specific product will help them to compete with others in the market.

in traditional data bases response time was high in Medihelp it is less(reduced to 71.5%)
in traditional databases adhoc queries response was high in Medihelp it is reduced to 74.1%
in traditional databases queries response time was very high and was reduced in medihelp to 92.8%
Medihelp datawarehousing is more convineint and accurate as compared to traditional warehousing.

(e)Main challenges were the lack of decision making ability, complexity and time consumption.
for this they should divide whole databases into sub databases ehich will reduce complexity
and all queries should be within the sub databases not other than that it will reduce time consumption.
(f) Yes, i think Medihelp's new datawarehouse is well appreciated by the senior managers and employees as Theo Els, a senior manager of client relations claims that it has greatly improved their understanig and accessibility of datas,trends for their employees and customer and also helped brokers and health consultants to get the proper informations required in more convinient way.
