Given the following scenario, diagnose the problem:

You are a technical field engineer looking at your daily tickets and one of them is a trouble ticket escalated with a high priority. The description reads that the user cannot connect to the network and with a series of initial testing the user is unable to view any WebPages in the browsers or connect to any shared network drives. Illustrate what tools and steps you would take in solving the user's network client's connectivity issues. Explain how you would go about solving the problem. Thoroughly describe the tools and methods you would use to diagnose and to solve the problem.

We can use the following tools to diagnose the network issues.out of all tools we will select the tools that are appropriate to the network problem .

Basic tools for troubleshooting most networking issues.

ping:
It is commonly used network tool ,it provides basic connectivity test between the requesting host and a destination host.this is done by using the Internet control message protocol it has an ability to send an echo packet to a destination host and a mechanism to listen for a response from this host.

Tracert:

The tracert utility can used to determine more specific information about the path to the destination host including the route the packet takes and the response time of these intermediate hosts.

Ipconfig:
This utility that can be used to find out this IP configuration information include the ipconfig utility on Windows machine and the ipconfig utility on Unix based machine.

Nslookup:
It is used to lookups the specific ip address associated with domain name.if this utility is unable to resolve this information,there is a DNS issue

Netstat:

This is used to determine which services on a host is associated with specific active ports

Subnet and ip calculator:

Ip calculator unsure a correct ip address selection and with this a correct ip address configuration

Speed test.net:

Easy way to determine the Internet bandwidth available to a specific host

Route:

Route utility is used to display the current status of the route table table on a host.it is used in multiple gateways are available.
