How many different machines can be ordered with a 21-inch monitor, a 1 TB hard drive, and an inkjet printer? How many different machines can be ordered if the customer does not want a 3-year warranty?Explanation / Answer
54- A Total of 216 machines can be ordered it is calculated as we have to calculate combinations .
we have 3 monitors and for one machine wehave to choose out of 3 so we calculate it as 3c1 =3 similarly for two hard drives we have 2 choices so 2c1=2 , for two rams we have 2c1=2 , for optical drive we have two choices so again its 2c1=2 , for video card we have 3 choices so it is 3c1= 3 and for printer we have again 3 choices so it becomes 3c1=3 . for warranty we have only 3- yr warranty so we done have choices in that so the total combinations are (3*2*2*2*3*3*1) which is equal to 216 .
