Background Information

Adding a header to the top of a web page helps to define the purpose of the page. Search engines are able to search header tags in pages. Furthermore, the use of header tags makes your page more accessible for users with disabilities.

In the previous assignment you used a definition list. In this assignment you will create a definition list, but you will also add an unordered list to your page. Unordered lists start with the <ul> tag and end with the closing </ul> tag. Items are bulleted and use the <li></li> tags which identify them as part of the list.

Instructions

On page 65 in your textbook complete #9 in the ‘Hands-On Exercises’. For this assignment you will create a new web page. The requirements for this page are as follows:

Create a web page about your favorite musical group and make sure that the following items are on this page:The name of the group.

Use a header tag for the name of the group.

The individuals in the group.

To organize the name, use an unordered list.

A hyperlink to the group’s website.

Your favorite three CD releases with a brief review of each of them.

Use a description list for the CDs and the reviews.

Make sure that your page has a title and that your name is included in the comments, see example in Workshop 2, 2.4 Dropbox.

Instead of printing your web page, do a screen capture of your page by clicking on the Print Screen button, or use a program such as Snipping Tool and paste it into a Word document. Put the Word document along with the web page, band.html into a zip file.

When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit your zip file to your instructor using the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
