X University has of late expanded very rapidly introducing a number of programs and increasing student enrollment capacity. It has recently computerized its examination process based on some off-the-shelf software. The library had already been computerized a couple of years back using a freely distributed Library Automation System. Daily cash transactions are also handled by computers in the Finance and Accounting Division, using an accounting software. For further improvement of efficiency, the new governing body of the University have entrusted the task of developing an MIS for the University to a software company.

2. Every organisation wants to provide services with a very simple manner. So every organisation wants computer software to provide services to the people with a simple manner.
3. For example take a banking system, initially if the people wants money, people should go to the bank and take withdrawal form and get the money.
4. Now a drastic increase in technology. No need to goto bank everything in our door steps. Internet banking, mobile banking and pos plays vital role in today in banking system.
5.A Management Information Systems (MIS) focuses on the management of information systems to provide efficiency and effectiveness of strategicdecision making.
6. The concept may include systems termed transaction processing system, decision support systems, expert systems, and executive information systems.
7. The term MIS is often used in the business schools. Some of MIS contents are overlapping with other areas such as information system, information technology, informatics, e-commerce and computer science.
8. Today every organisation needs system support. It means everyone needs software to perform their daily tasks.
9. MIS plays a vital role in the organisations.
