Question
How much power should the courts have in affecting the relationship between employers and employees? This country was built on the philosophy of Laissez Faire.... leave them alone. Under that philosophy, we built railroads, skyscrapers and a vast industrial economy that has made us the envy of the industrial world. Entrepreneurs were able to get rich or go broke based on their own talent and luck, and workers could choose their professions and become successful by their own hard work.
On the other hand, entrepreneurs became fabulously wealthy on the backs on the workers. Miners were routinely killed in dangerous mining conditions so the owners could become even wealthier. There was a case in the 1920's in which a young boy was required to work late at night cleaning machines. He spilled a little cleaning fluid, and it dripped on a mouse hiding under the machine. The mouse ran under a gas radiator. The flame of the radiator caused the mouse to catch on fire, and it ran under the machine which blew up due to the flammable fluid being used to clean. The boy was killed; The employer hired another boy to take his place. No, I didn't make that up.
Under what circumstances, and to what degree, should the government be able to step in and dictate the relationship between an employer and employee?
Explanation / Answer
Employees and employers relationship are very important and proper curation of this relationship is more important then the relationship itself. Relation between the employee and employer defines the working structure, authenticity of the services provided and services got.
Courts should have Supreme Power in affecting the relationship between employee and employer as if the court does not have the power to intervene between employee and employer, employer would greatly explored the employee benefit of their services.
All the private interests in businesses should not be curated as they does not possess any kind of harm to the society. All of these and vinegar businesses are done by a single person has the employer and the employee is the same person in the relationship between the employee and the employer could not go bad. Government should only be intercepting the relation between the employee and the employer if there is a difference between the employee and the employer and the employee is usually an Enterprise rather than being an interviewer.
Entrepreneurship is a fine example of sole hard work and it should not be intercepted by the government by any means as the demotivates an enterpreneur and reduces the overall efficiency of the specific business. Rather than curating this kind of situation, government should help the entreprenuers.
For limiting the power of the employers for not overpowering the employees, getting power to the court is essential. Government should be allowed to maintain relationships between employees and employers on the basis of Ethics as well as morality. For maintaining better working environment for the employees and for regulating the authority of the employers over the working circumstances, powers should be given to the government to intervene between the employer and the employee.
