there are different management systems we studied: they are: database management systems, global information systems, intelligent information systems, enterprise systems, knowledge management systems, decision support systems, executive information systems and so on.

for this discusion i have chosen the following:

executive information system: which helps the senior executives to take decisions in relevant areas. it provides easy access to both internal information system and external information to meet the goals of the organization. it is used by managerial level people for decision making only.

decision support system: when there are more uncertainty about possible outcomes, in these times management use this for taking decisions by using this. it consists of tolls and some other techniques which helps to collect relevant information and analyse those, with help of some spreadsheets it creates what if models.

knowledge management systems: these are used by employees to share their views and knowledge about their regular work, work related problems, issues, and helps them to create new knowledge y sharing among others. the above said two systems are used by management for decison making, where as it is used by employees to share their views and knowledge.

geographic information system: it helps the global firms to segment the total market and how can they focus on market as segment wise. it is used to cover the market and expose the services and products of the firm.
