Explanation / Answer
Answer :
1) What is the difference between internet and Internet?
“internet” is a string of networks owned by two or more organizations, ( for example Microsoft and Google) and set up to communicate with each other.
“Internet” is the worldwide network comprising of all other networks interconnected and communicating on the open Web. DNS names and IP addresses are structured and issued by association designated by the host country.
2) What is Multiplexing and De-multiplexing in TCP/IP?
Each socket in a host is assigned a port number which helps the transport layer to identify and decide which socket the segments have to be passed to reach the desired process.
Multiplexing:-
Multiplexing is a process of many-to-one.
By the side of the sender site, there should be several processes that need to send their packets. TCP at transport layer accepts all these messages from different sockets differentiated by their port numbets and after adding headers, passes the segment to the network layer. This process is termed as Multiplexing.
Demultiplexing:-
Demultiplexing is a process of one-to-many.
At the receiver site, the TCP at transport layer accepts datagrams from network layer, eliminates IP header, ensures their port numbers and then transports the datagrams to the respective sockets and ultimately to the attached processes. This process is referred to as Demultiplexing.
3) Why Multiplexing and De-multiplex is important in networking?
In communications, the multiplexed signal is transmitted over a communication channel, which may be a physical transmission medium. Multiplexing splits the capacity of the low-level communiqué channel into numerous higher-level logical channels, one to each message signal or data stream to be transferred.
To extract the original channels on the receiver side, in the networking module we use a reverse process to multiplexing known as De Multiplexing.
In this way Multiplexing and De multiplexing processes are important for the communication process in networking.
4) Bit rate required = 1000000 * 8 bits
= 8000000 bps
= 8 Mbps
