Question
Deadlocks can occur in many real-life scenarios. One person is waiting on another, who is waiting on the first person. And nobody ever does anything because their actions are both dependent on the other taking action!
This week, you’ll come up with your own real-life deadlock scenario in part 1. Then you’ll solve two of your classmates’ posted scenarios in part 2.
Part 1
In your initial post, describe a real-world system or situation where deadlock might occur. Explain the scenario. Include all rules in your system and explain why the system is not deadlock-free through an example.
Explanation / Answer
Answer)
A deadlock is a situation wherein each member is waiting on the other member to take action, based on which the member will take an action.
For example, such as real world scenario should be, the situation would be when we want to apply for some jobs as a fresher. Thus when we apply for a job we are fresher and do not have any work experience. In a situation where, you cannot get the job without having the job experience and also you cannot get the job experience without being in a job. And since you're a fresher that would be an ideal deadlock situation.
Thus, you're in a deadlock situation wherein you cannot get a job or experience in job. This is thus not deadlock-free.
