TRAINING PLAN - SECURITY TRAINING AND MONITORING

Security Staff :- A well trained security staff is required to be recruited and deployed at vantage points. All entry exit areas to be manned by trained guards capable of speaking to the visitors and handling any issues. The service entry security staff to be trained in receiving goods, staff entry etc. For every 10 security guards, there should be a security supervisor. A trainer should also be a part of their team.

Frisking of staff :- All staff is required to be frisked before they report for duty and also at the time of exit. Frisking of the staff ensures that no information, items of the organization are not carried away out of the premises of the work place. Any secret and confidential information if it is carried away and given to unauthorized people, the same can be detrimental to the organization.

DFMD - Door Frame Metal Detector - DFMD is required to be placed at the entrance of the organization, wherein any guests or outsiders can be routed through it in order to identify in case they are carrying any heavy metal. DFMD sends out a long alarm in case the guest/visitor is carrying any fire arms etc. A hand held metal detector can be used to monitor the baggage.

Walkie Talkie :- The security personnel should be armed with walkie Talkie sets for communication. The communication should be crisp and to the point.

CCTV cameras - Closed circuit Television cameras can be installed at areas which is required to be monitored round the clock. If the organisation has a long perimeter wall, deploying staff to guard it will be expensive and will not be as effective as having monitored by CCTV cameras. The footage is required to be saved for 6 months.

Fire Safety Devices :- Fire safety devices include suitable extinguishers, smoke detectors, heat detectors, sprinklers and a fire alarm system which is connected to a public address system. This ensures that in case of any incidence of smoke, it will trigger a fire alarm. This ensures that the building is safe. Fire exit boards are placed at every floor and also a safe assembly point to be earmarked for assembly of staff in the event of fire.

IT :- Information Technology is not averse to security hazards. IT security of the organisation is required to be given prime emphasis so that classified information do not leak out to unauthorised hands. Every IT device should be hack proof. Anti virus to be loaded to ensure safety of the device. Access to pendrive slots and disk drive slots to be limited to top management executives only.

Training :- Training on security and fire safety is required to be calendered as a monthly training and to be carried out to all the staff. The training should be a class room session and followed by a on site session. Each session should be a one hour session each. It is advisable to have external trainers for the training. A mock drill session is also required to be planned every six months. The mock drill report and learnings is required to be captured and disseminated to all staff and heads of department.

Eligibility of trainers :- The trainers of security staff should have served in the Armed Forces for at least 15 years. It would be ideal if the trainer was serving as a security specialist in the Armed forces. However with fast changing technology, a trainer who has a the skill to identify dangerous situations and train the staff is adequate. The trainer should be a graduate and should have good communication skills

Budget :-

Safety Training Fees to the Trainer - $700 per day. Each batch of trainees should not exceed 30 as the training will be ineffective in case of more trainees. Hence traning fee per trainee -$ 23

F&B - $ 10 per trainee

Handouts - $ 10 per trainee

Cost per trainee should not exceed $ 43

All other expenses and training aids other than handouts to will be in the scope of the trainer
