ritical Thinking The following activities give you critical thinking challenges. Case Projects offer a scenario with a problem to solve for which you supply a written solution. Case Project 1-1: Recommending a Network Model You're installing a new network for CSM Tech Publishing, a new publisher of technical books and training materi- als. There will be 10 client computers running Windows 10, and CSM Tech Publishing plans to run a web-based order processing/inventory program that for now is used only by in-house employees while they're on site. CSM Tech Publishing wants to be able to manage client computer and user policies and allow employees to share doc uments. Sign in and security should be centrally managed. What network model, workgroup, or domain, should be used? Explain your answer, including any server roles you may need to install.Explanation / Answer
Network Mode to be used is TCP/IP Model.
Microsoft Windows workgroup can be used.
Microsoft Windows workgroups allows a way to organize the PC's used in LAN by providing peer-to-peer connectivity. Peer-to-peer allows ease of file sharing, local resource sharing and internet access. Workgroups allows easy configuration of the network devices.
Windows domains support client-server local networks. Domain Controller can be used to manage the domain related functionality. Domain Controller runs on the Windows Server operating system and it serves as the central server for all clients in the domain. Windows domains can handle much more number of computers as compared to the workgroups. Windows Domain provides the centralized resource sharing and better access control. A client PC can either belong to a workgroup or to a Windows domain.
The plan to run CSM Tech Publishing effectively is as follows:
