1)Coming to file by file backup , this is the most comman way of taking backup. The main advantage of this is it is Very Simple to Understand .File Level backups gives More flexible way of doing backups ,scheduling. And it has normally smaller backups than Image Backup. On the Other Hand Image Backup is having Many advantages Like file backups does not work when you need to do a full Restore of OS while Image backups are An image of Your Entire OS , OS Configuration , Related files .With Image Backup we can Restore a SIngle file , directory or Complete disk to new Hardware or Any new Virtual Machine. Even You Can Backup to External USb drive as well.

2) If we want to recover the backup from old disk to disk of smaller or larger size Image Backup would be Better option because file backup will save document but not application that created it . in case of Image Backup it is easy to Provide Complete Backup which can restore to a Machine.

3)in this case only need to backup those things that have changed then it is better to choose file by file Backup instead of Image backup because in this Case it would be Cost effective. Image backup is recommended when you need Complete Backup .

4)Yes , Goole drive Provide Effecient protection from Security Threats, Ransomware Google docs, Slides and All other files in Google drive are Encrypted And Stored very Secure way in google cloud.Even In case Your Device Like Computer , Smartphone may face some threat but no matter every file Will stay safe in Google Drive.
