Question
It is my personal experience with the customer service of the reputed telecom service provider that was quite annoying in nature. I visited the customer care center to change my postpaid plan to the prepaid plan, but I was convinced to the change my postpaid plan that was less costly. I agreed and I was told that the plan will be updated in next 24 hours. I was happy by this time as I had 15 days to complete the billing cycle of the month.
Though I started getting annoyed when it was more than 3 days and plan was not yet updated. It took me to call the customer care for more than 5 times to explain my problem and each time I got a reference number but no action was taken. The whole billing cycle was about to be completed, then they took action and updated my plan. To compensate my pain, they only gave a discount in the bill of last month.
If I would be in that place as supervisor, I will must take the action as performance guarantee of the services committed to the customers, must be honored. It is the time of service to win the customers as all the competitors are selling the similar plans. I would like to ensure that:
1. Correct time period should be given to the customers to deliver the services. If required, I will request to hire more executives to make adequate workloads.
2. Collect the feedback so that the proactive approach in customer care is followed. I may face few negative feedback, but it is important to understand our customers, their issues and should be committed to sole their problem.
3. Proper training and customer handling process is explained to all the executives.
Above initiatives will ensure that the satisfaction level will increase and more positive feedback is received by the company.
