Question
Motivating and Inspiring the employees will always lead to increase in the overall performance in organizations. This is mainly because, under normal circumstances, an employee would be doing his routine job and hence the productivity level will be stagnant. On the other hand, if the employees are motivated, they will take interest in their work and try to stand above others which is good for the company. These days, there are enormous competitions in every field, and hence for a company to succeed, all the employees must work hard and work with interest. Certain motivational factors like hike, incentives, appraisals etc., increase the individual job performance of the employees. In order to achieve the desired career growth, the employee will naturally increase his individual job performance.
There are a lot of ways to measure the job performance of the employees. The main measurement technique is the quantitative measurement which compares the employee's previous productive record to the current one. The second one is by analyzing the feedback that the employee has got in a period of time.
An employee may be motivated naturally by getting self-motivated by seeing his peers or getting inspired by his higher officials or someone of a lower cadre. For example, if all the co-workers get substantial hike for their performance, then apparently the employee will also get motivated. On the other hand, there can be certain sessions conducted by speakers who have got extraordinary oratory skills to motivate the employee.
It is the primary responsibility of the manager to make sure that all his subordinates are enthusiastic and have got no concerns while working. The manager must regularly ensure that the team's energy is up and running. He must motivate himself and must pass on the same energy to his employees. Hence I conclude that motivating the employees will definitely yield more productivity.
