Can anyone explain to me the output from the truth table when the borrow is equal to 1 ?
It is required to design an iterative combinational circuit that computes the equation Z-2*X-Y, where X and Y are n-bit unsigned numbers (i) Determine the number of inputs and outputs needed for your 1-bit cel This circuit requires the following 3 pieces of information, which can be encoded using 2 signals No carry or borrow (C-0, B-0) Carry 1 (C-1, B-0) Borrow 1 (C-0, B1) Cout Cin Bout Bin (ii) Derive the truth table of your 1-bit cellExplanation / Answer
Solution:
The borrow value is 1 when the cin is 0 and Bin is 1 then even if X and Y are the same there will be a need to borrow bit that is why borrow bit is 1 here.
and when X is 0 and Y is 1 then only X-Y will require a borrow bit, that is why the borrow bit is 1 here as well.
