With storage capacities becoming larger and larger with components becoming cheaper it will mean that bigger corporations can maintain a huge amount of data in one place without the requirement of additional space. This also decreases the cost of maintaining the server space and security and electric costs and applications are also decreased. The data can easily be made more secure as it is collected in one place. But that has its own disadvantages which come in the form of having to create additional backups and security concern since the data is in one place it is easier for an attacker to break through the security of one system and therefore cause it to become vulnerable.
