Twitter is a social networking service where in the users can upload news, express their view and also follow their idols so that they get to learn from them.
Twitter has recently made various developments in their user interface and some of them include new design where in it becomes very easy for the user to tweet just by sliding from the left hand side menu rather than traditionally composing tweet. This also includes a new design for the navigation bar.
Twitter has now also enabled its user to send images via direct messages. People who use twitter's direct message feature feels that it was a much needed change.
Twitter has recently offered tailored audience to the advertisers where in the advertisers can take the advantage of user's browser cookies in order to give them results about the pages or website they recently visited.
Twitter has also announced search filters for its mobile application and the people using it find it very easy and convenient to find the person they want to follow.
The financial and business analysts are not very much confident on twitter's management. The financial and business analyst are majorly concerned not about what product or service the organization produces but who their team is, but in the case of twitter analyst find it very difficult to trust on the management as the management keeps on changing very early for this organization. They have very much volatility in their management team that it becomes very difficult for analyst as well as the Foreign Institutional Investors and Domestic Institutional Investors to invest. According to the reports published in CNBC , twitter has its own unique value but with the fast changing management it will be nothing more than a takeover in the next 3-4 years.
Twitter is still innovating and tying to bring new changes for its user as well as for the businesses and their owner that are currently active on twitter. One such example that can be stated is when any organization needs a response from the general public for their product or service they can easily ask for their opinion on the matter. The end-user can retweet the tweet so as to show consent or promoting the product/service being offered. Twitter has added "Vine" platform by adding music to the videos ,this increases their video ads on the platform which has a positive impact on the revenue generated from sponsored video. Another innovative feature they introduced was Auto-play videos where in as soon as a video is ended the other video automatically begins.
Twitter is on a continuous path of success and the reason behind it is that twitter is testing and expanding its base from 140-character to around 280 characters. Twitter identified that sometimes the user had to remove or delete words that conveyed a very important meaning but had to be removed due to character constraint. They expect more people to tweet when they have more words/character to express their views. They also identified that in certain different languages such as Japanese it takes more characters to convey the same message thus people got frustrated by tweeting. Changing to the needs of the customer is one of the biggest change that needs to be made in order for any organization to be a successful one.
Twitters major competitors are Facebook, messenger, WhatsApp, Google and Instagram. They are threats to twitter but some of them such as messenger have billion user but no revenue from the messages. They are threats as if a person who want to express himself using more than 280 characters he will not use twitter as an option, when people do not use twitter for advertisement and other reason as people will stop using their services due to character constraints it will have an impact on the revenue being generated by the organization.
One thing in case of social media is that it will change, each year something new pops up and something old fades away. By the last quarter twitter revenue has declined and it is much less than what WallStreet had expected. Brands do not consider twitter as such attractive as other social networking platforms such as instagram and snapchat and also the brands observation/findings show that they generate less revenues as other networks.One of the reason that can be identified that twitter is not considered to generate great revenues for the brands is because journalist and news organization are the most active users of twitter and then it is considered as an application to increase knowledge about what is going around the globe. Twitter may not stay for long in the market and if it wants to be a major player it has many more innovations to do for the retail user as well for various business organization.
