Tell me how long you've been driving a car. Ken Not long, actually. In Japan, I have a driver's license, but no real practice. Aidan In that case, I need to urge you to drive properly, so I sit shotgun. Ken Shotgun? What does that mean? Aidan 'Shotgun' means 'sitting in the passenger seat'.
So 'I sit shotgun' means 'I sit in the passenger seat'. Charlotte In that case, I will sit in the back and tip you off when I see something dangerous. But Ken, you should keep your eyes on the road too, please. Ken Yes, ma'am. I'm not a speed freak or anything, so trust me on that.
Explanation / Answer
SUMMARY
Ken got a driver's permit and went to practice driving a car with Alden and Charlotte in it.Alden complemented Ken for getting a driver's permit and asked him for how long he has been driving a car.Ken replied that he didn't had a long practice and continued that he had a driving license in Japan, but no good practice.
A little worried Aledn urged Ken to drive properly so that he can set in the car in the passenger seat.Charlotte said that she would guide Ken from back seat and inform if there is any danger. She also requested Ken to drive safely keeping his eyes on the road.
Ken replied with affirmative and said that he is not a speed freak and they can trust him.Alden is happy for Ken as he has no intention to get caught by police.Charlette supported Alden.
Now,Charlette suggested that why don't we drive near our neighbourhood as there are many roundabouts.Ken didn't get the meaning of roundbouts and asked Charlette for the meaning.Charlette answered that it is a circular type of interjection that looks like an island and told the directions for Ken to get there.
Ken doesn't have good knowledge of driving as we can see that he didn't know the terms like shotgun and roundabouts that are related to driving. But,he is not a speed freak and is cautious about the rules.
