a)
The source host which host A here sends the data to the switch and the header of it contains the source address and the destination address the switch reads the header and and compare it with the switching table based on the destination it forwards the data to the port where the destination address is intended to.
b)
Yes, switch has a switching table of its own, this table is maintain to resolve the address requests coming on the switch to transfer the data and the acknowledgements.
