I NEED THIS ANS FOR NETWORK FUNDAMENTAL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
THANK YOU
Explanation / Answer
Please note that I will be mentioning Internet of Things as IoT throughout the answers.
Question 1 : How do you believe the Internet of Things is changing the way we live?
Ans. : IoT has changed a lot in our way of living. Starting from controlling electronic equipments with your voice, to driverless cars. if you see the current market, everyone manufacture is trying to make their product more easely accessible. Here IoT comes into picture. Now as most of the peoples are having access to smartphones and internet, it becomes more easy to make the devices connected to each other. It helps our daily work being easily done. Whether controlling the TV or controlling the room temperature or it be the control of the lights in your house, now because of IoT everything is connected. So it just a matter of single tap to control them, regardless whether you are at house or not. You just need internet to take control on them from any place.
Question 2 : Currently, Amazon Echo and Google Home are the two biggest IoT smart home devices. What do you feel are the best 3 features of these products for you personally?
Ans. The best part of these devices is that they work with your voice (without any touch). And more IoT devices are made compatible with these smart speakers, so that you can control your IoT devices with your voice. Purchasing an item online or calling someone, these smart speakers do the job easely.
Reading online reviews and articles, which do you feel is currently the best device to own, Amazon Echo or Google Home?
Ans. : I prefer Amazon echo as it has a large skill set. And a lot of IoT devices are compatible to use with echo. Compared to skill set of google home, amazon echo have more than twice skill set of that of google. So interacting with IoT devices becomes a lot more easier with amazon echo.
Do you currently own an Amazon Echo or Google Home?
Ans : No. I don't own any of these.
Question 3 : Research IoT smart home devices that are available. Rank three devices that you believe are the most unique that are available and describe what they do.
Ans. : Smart Plugs --- Control your plugpoints from your smartphone or through any smart speaker/voice assistant
Delta Five Bed Bug Monitoring System --- It's a small Wi-Fi enabled device can be mounted on a headboard near the box spring of any bed. Using non-toxic lures, it is designed to trap bed bugs and other insects like ants, cockroaches, and other creepy crawlers. Once an insect is trapped, it will automatically send a text message or email with an image of the bug.
Amazon Dash Wand --- The water resistant wand uses two AA batteries. When you run out of any item, just scan the barcode (or tell Alexa with your voice) and it will automatically land in your Amazon shopping cart.
Question 4 : Research various network security issues that have arose with IoT devices being always connected. Describe the security issue which interests you the most.
Ans. - As we know, IoT devices are always connected to internet. So the main issue which grabs eyeball is the privacy. If anyone hack into your network/smartphone, then all the IoT devices will be under his control. He can gain access to all your data and your physical belongings also (Take example of smart door lock, which unlocks from your smartphone). If someone get access to your smartphone, then all the data will be in there hand. And one more biggest security concert is the protection of privacy of users. As all this IoT devices are connected to each other, the manufacturer can gain access to the data transmitted/received from the device and silently use to data to snoop on users. Track and use the users activity data for any advertise/monetary purposes. How the user data will be used by the third pary is the biggest concert. Whether you can trust the third party(IoT manufacturer) or not, it still depends on users. Taking on smart speakers, they are always listening. So what if they will be processing our day to day conversations to show relevant ads to us and monetise from this.
Question 5 : Most always connected IoT devices receive most of their data via a sensor or multiple sensors in the device. Name three types of sensors that IoT devices may use and what the sensors main function is.
Ans:- Home surveilance camera --- Motion detection cameras use CCD which is a silicon chip with a surface that is divided into light-sensitive pixels. When light hits these pixels, tiny electric charges are generated and with enough of these pixels, you can get a fairly high resolution image. With adequate "sensitivity" (a term to be defined further down in this article), you can detect motion even in a dimply lit room.
Smart Thermostat - Smart thermostats use temperature sensor to continuously monitor the room temperature and keep the cooling system at its correct level to maintain a constant temperature throughout the day.
Motion sensors ---- Used in the smart home lighting system to detect the motion in the room. If there is no motion detected within certain time, it automatically turns off the lights and other electrical equipments, which saves a lot of energy. It uses IR/Ultrasonic/Microwave sensor to detect motion.
Question 6 : Internet of Things has many experts predicting a different looking society in the future than we have today. Some go as far as predicting computer devices rising up and taking over if we don’t protect ourselves. What do you see as the future in terms of Internet of Things? Anything to worry about?
Ans. : As long as there is human intervention present in crucial decision making scenario of these IoT devices, then no need to worry at all. But if these devices are automated fully and given control to do whatever without getting any instruction from devlopers then they will be vulnerable. So while devloping the software, in certain situations the devloper have to provide feedback, what to be done in this situation. If the IoT device is automated to decide by itself, then it is vulnerable. It should not be allowed. Now due to AI and machine learning algorithms, the computer system understands better than any human being. They remember everything and watch/learn how to react at a certain situation and act accordingly. But these decisions should be reviewed by the devlopers before acting on it. Or else one day these IoT devices will became self aware and will act against the mankind.
Question 7 : Now that you’ve researched Internet of Things and the devices that are always connected. Which device(s) would you like to have in your home? Don’t worry about barriers to owning the products, such as cost.
Ans:- Smart speakers , smart Thermostat and Smart lighting systems are preference of mine. Because they help in saving energy and make the job easily done.
