Write 200- to 300-word response to the following discussion topic: Some friends of yours want to develop a new web application that can be accessed from anywhere at any time. They want it to connect to a database; to retrieve, add or update content. They also want it to render well on a variety of devices and window or screen sizes. However, they have a small budget and they are not sure whether to develop this application using PHP or ASP.NET. In your opinion, what is the best option for them and why? Provide detailed justification for your response.

While designing any web based application, the most important thing we need to keep in mind is the amount of money we want to spend on it.
As we have two options to design, .NET or PHP.

That being said there are common myths in the industry about .NET web development being a more elegant language than PHP. While strictly speaking .NET doesn’t allow for as many irregularities in its code while still being able to run (which technically does make PHP web development services is an easier language for beginners to pick up) the actual business applications of being able to write “prettier code” are negligible.
According to my opinion, I will use PHP, because of the flexibility and variety it provides.

ASP.NET is also a very popular and a very stable programming language, but due to the concepts and features like OOPs, easy Input-output operations, efficient arithmetic and logical operations, and most importantly due to the fact that PHP is a open source programming platform, PHP is beter than .NET.
