==> MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION <==

Identify the best reason below that explains why packets in a network may be received by a host in a different order than how they were transmitted by the sender:

a. IPV4 allows packets to be transmitted, but IPV6 does not.

b. A packet may arrive with errors and in turn need to be re-transmitted.

c. Packets are often sent out all the interfaces of a router when there is network congestion. For example if a router has 4 interfaces, a packet sent to this router will be sent out all 4 interfaces when there is congestion in the network.

d. The IP protocol often creates packets with different header formats with different size byte fields. The packets with large headers take longer to get transmitted.

Explanation / Answer

option b is correct,

because the sender wwill send the packets with an order but the reciever may recieve the packets in different order .

due to some network issues packets may loss,or corrupted etc,in that case the packets will be retransmitted,

where as the correct packets will be recieved by the host but the corrupted packets tends to retransmit by the sender ,in the network the routers also involved in the packet switching ,thiss may leads to differentiate the order of the packets.
