Question

>> My name is Michael Boyle and I am one of the owners and founders of Mike Boyle's Strength and Conditioning in Woburn, North Andover and Haverhill, Massachusetts. Basically, I have been doing this for 33 years. I started out with the idea that I was going to be an athletic trainer, went to Boston University for about 6 months as an athletic trainer and then realized that that wasn't what I wanted to do and that I was going to do strength and conditioning so I resigned my full-time paid position and started volunteering and I was basically a volunteer strength coach and a bartender for the better part of 6 or 7 years and then gradually started shifting, a little more strength and conditioning, a little less bartending and then eventually a point where I didn't need to bar tend anymore. But the big thing is, I'm not going to say it because now I got you here, getting on the scale every week and realizing that, okay, I've got to get that proper tool. So we probably have three relatively distinct customers, let's say. We've got an adult customer who's training in a small group. We've got an adult customer who's training one on one and then we've got a young athlete customer. That's really the vast majority. Your professional athlete sort of morph between the two over time because they start out as that young filet mignon guy or girl when they're 18, 19, 20, 21 but suddenly we've had some that now are in their late 30s and some even into their early 40s and now they're much more like our older adult client. I always say with some of our older professional athletes we just want to get you back and make money again, go back, get paid another year. I tell our coaches all the time that we're in the life changing business, we're not in the strength and conditioning business. We're not in the personal training business. We have the capacity. We probably have greater capacity than your doctor does to change your life. I don't hire the narcissist. I always say your clothes should fit. They shouldn't look like you bought them from your little brother or your little sister and you really should care about the people that you're training. If you don't care that they're getting better than you're in the wrong field.

If Marco is working with a client with an ___________(A. internal B. external) locus of control, this client is probably ______(A. achievement oriented and motivated B. hard to motivate)   but less likely to believe that following Marco’s recommendations is the best way to achieve her fitness goals.

Mike Boyle needs to hire trainers to work with clients at his gym. He has conducted a job analysis and determined which tasks people in the job need to perform. He is aware that people with certain underlying personality factors will be a natural fit for the job, while other people may need more development and coaching to perform well. He asks you to analyze which personality factor relates to each job task.

Trainers need to coordinate schedules, share a locker room and equipment, and support each other in taking care of the gym’s clients. Which personality factor is most important to perform this task successfully?

Agreeableness

Openness to experience

Conscientiousness

Extroversion

Mike tells you he’s heard that different problem-solving styles, based on the work of Carl Jung, predispose people to feel more satisfaction doing certain kinds of work. He is also interested in using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to help his employees leverage their strengths and develop their weaknesses, as well as to better understand each other’s preferred ways of working. He asks you what problem-solving style tends to align with various tasks performed at MBSC.

As Mike says in the video, trainers need to genuinely care about their clients. Ana adds that she learns a lot about people and earns their trust, then helps them set practical goals that will help them methodically improve their fitness. Which problem-solving style is the best fit?

Sensation-Thinking

Intuitive-Thinking

Sensation-Feeling

Intuitive-Feeling

pls provide me with the correct answer i will rate you !!!!

Explanation / Answer

1)

Individuals with internal locus of control are achievement oriented and motivated. They believe that they have control over events that affect their lives and consequences are outcomes of their own actions. They have high levels of need for achievement and they believe that hard work would lead them to positive outcomes.

If Marco is working with a client with an __ A. internal ___ locus of control, this client is probably ______A. achievement oriented and motivated _____   but less likely to believe that following Marco’s recommendations is the best way to achieve her fitness goals.

2)

Trainers need to coordinate with each other, share locker room, and support each other in taking care of clients' needs. To better deal with clients thereby maintain a good job culture, the most important trait needed is the conscientiousness. This is the kind of trait that includes being careful. This also depicts to perform efficiently and in an organized way to avoid any dis-order and working issues in between.

Thus, the correct option is “Conscientiousness”.

3)

Sensation and intuition; and thinking and feeling are opposite dimensions of the four ego functions. People with sensation are pragmatic and practical, they make conscious perception based on what they sense. It relates to physical stimuli, whereas intuition is based on gut feeling. Thinking is based on head level, feeling is based on heart level. Thinking type decisions are based on facts, information and reasoning, whereas feeling type decisions are based on emotional response. The fact that Ana adopts a practical approach towards goal setting and methodical approach to achieve them highlights her sensation trait and the fact that she learns about people and earns their trust highlights her emotional strength and therefore, reflects her feeling trait.

Thus, the correct option is “Sensation-Thinking”.
