Question

A staff meeting is called to discuss various risky projects that have high potential payoffs. After evaluating the alternatives, one option looks especially promising to you. Although the project appears to be risky, you believe the likely gains are worth the risk. Would your willingness to support the risky project be influenced by the amount of personal involvement you anticipated? Would you consider the situation differently if your boss asked you to accept personal responsibility for the risky assignment by becoming the project manager? What if you were just asked your opinion, and the actual project would be handled by someone else?

Explanation / Answer

1. Yes definately my personal involvement influence my willingness to support the risky project as firstly it has high gains in terms of profit numbers and secondly I could be working for critical and risky project could get me in limelight of higher management for growth perspective.

2.Yes since it would be great opportunity to work as project manager to put my efforts for first ever risky project but with promosing and higher gains and since higher responsibilty comes with with higher pressure and need a call for much effort so definately it would be great learning and I will assume the conditions differently due to personal effort involved.

3.If same project if handled by someone else in the company then I could be able to provide my sincere thought process but would not be able to concentrate the way similar if I would be handling the project. Though being a sincere team member I will provide true opinions and perspectives of pros/cons of the risky project.
