Competency based education is a concept that a student is being taught and instructed on certain topics and then that student is marked and ranked based on the amount and % of skills and knowledge acquired by him or her i.e. how competent he is in that particular educational course. A student is marked basis the skills, basis the knowledge and basis the abilities of that student to excel in that particular field. A student is supposed to learn all what he is being instructed and taught. In this concept it is focused that learning is more concrete and stable rather than superficial and adequate efforts are made to achieve the same. It is very different from a curriculum and syllabus kind of a study, in this a particular skill is associated with a student based on the competency of the student and then he/she is trained and instructed to polish that particular competency. It is only once a student gains enough skillset based on that particular competency he is being made to learn other skills.
