Explanation / Answer
1.
There are different ways to bring collaboration among the different units as well as the functional areas. The first method to develop collaboration is to create a cross functional and units team that brings collaboration among the function. Each member of the team brings the functional expertise, command and knowledge that are shared with other members. These knowledge and information sharing process among the different team members and subsequent use by the different units and functions bring collaboration. The second method is to develop ERP applications and connect different functions and units to the application. It makes information to be available from one function to another so that each function readies themselves on time. For example, an OPD unit in the healthcare organization will upload the requirements of the physiotherapy of a patient that will be communicated to the physiotherapy unit via ERP applications. Hence, the concerned unit will be ready for the process. The third method is the centralized aggregation of records that can be shared by the different functions and units as per the requirements. It helps in making better decisions regarding the patient. It also helps in research * development work where the data from different units are very important for the interpretation of the results.
Further, there is a formation of project teams that look after the specific cases. It brings collaboration among the different units and informed decision is taken.
2.
One common example is sharing of records of the patients between the independent health care organizations. It can be related to the further patient care or it has to do with the research work as per the sta-tuto-ry guidelines and laws. The second example, the sharing of resources such as medical professionals serve more than one organization at one point of time.
