There is a fixed cost associated with opening each warehouse location, and the six candidate locations have different total capacities; these are summarized in Table 2 If a warehouse is open, it may ship products to any of the 10 demand cities. Shipment between each warehouse and each demand city incurs a per-unit transportation cost, provided in Table 3. Shipments from a given warehouse must not exceed the corresponding capacity. A city may receive products from more than one warehouse Due to a previous service agreement, IMSE LogSmart must open at least one facility west of the Mississippi River (Phoenix, Austin, and/or Dallas) IMSE LogSmart managers first want to understand the supply chain design and associated costs for the preceding basic requirements. In addition, they want to know the impact of each of the following restrictions on the optimal cost and design (a) To reduce risk in the supply chain, no more than 60% ofa city's demand can be satisfied by a single facility (b) While still satisfying the requirement in (a), at most one of the Texas facilities (Austin, Dallas) may be opened. Last year's facility location and transportation costs were S30,000 with a similar level of demand Decreasing costs would provide a substantial benefit to IMSE LogSmart. You must prepare a one-page executive summary that is intended for the CEO of IMSE LogSmart and is designed to convince the CEO that your supply chain design is better than the status quo and should be seriously considered. You must also prepare a technical report intended for your supervisor, an industrial engineer. The purpose of this report is to enable the industrial engineer to verify that your methodologies and results are correct. Your model should be included in the appendix of this report. see the above question is regarding the transporting of good from warehouse to the customers in an efficient way .
there are many ways to transfer goods but the optimized path will provide less cost and fast delievery of the product and also meets the customer satisfaction.
the optimized result is in the sense
1> we can decrease the path by taking the shortest path
2>fast means of delivery by keeping private suppliers and also the means of transport
3>the no of suppliers should be dependent on the demand where it is high.
to attain all these we require a optimized path as because based on the first table we can allocate where exactly we should keep the suppliers.
so now to find optimized path you have travelsalesman problem/dijkstra/bellman-ford/a* search/floyd-warsha/johnson/viterbi algorithm.
