Question
Just to reply to the following posting When I think of arrays and how we use them in our lives it is clear that we use them all the time and without knowing it. I think of airports, bus stations, train stations, and many more that use arrays daily, I also think of teachers and how they set up their grade books every year. The grade book has many pros and cons when it comes to using the program correctly, if you have everything in order, ready to calculate all of your inputs then the pro is that you will only have to input the students grade and the program will do the rest and give you your final result. If you miss a step when setting your grade book up or input the wrong grade you will spend more time trying to figure out where the fault was and have to enter the grade again once you have corrected the problem. If is funny to sit back and think of all the different types of arrays that we use daily without realizing how much we depend on them.Explanation / Answer
That is true. It may be hard to trace the problem sometimes, but as you said, being about to use arrays has made looking, storing, calculating data more efficient. However, the ones you list sounds more like a database than arrays. Arrays are usually linear while databases are more easily sorted and has multiple types of data. To do the same thing with arrays, you would have to use multiple parallel arrays or an more advance structure with arrays.
