What is the default task type? assignment? they are given different work values? the w=DU formula when an additional resource is added? the w=D*U formula when an additional resource is added?Explanation / Answer
Answer 1
Duration (in hours) * no. of resources that are assigned to task
Answer 2
Work= duration* time
Answer 3
When no resources are assigned , the work value is calulated is 0 hours and this results in 0 as an end result in the formula.
Basic equation is Work= Duration* Unit (Resource) and if resources are not calculated then we can calculate it by Work/ Duration= (Unit) Resources and it would be the value.
Answer 4
When two resources are given to a single task and it will take longer than the working time of 8 hours, one person or resource will be dedicated at 100% for 8 hours, while the second resource will need to put in a certain % in order to complete the nominated hours it would take to finish that particular task.
Answer 5
Work (W) will remain the same and duration (D) will decrease
Answer 6
Duration will be constant and Work varies for each resource or unit (U) will increase
Answer 7
Default task type in project 2010 is fixed units.
Default task type is a option to set in MS project in which you have to select from Work, Duration and unit and as you changes any component other components will automatically change. You can also choose which part of the equation will calculate by setting the task type.
